From surfing to rock-climbing, kayaking to competitive bocce-ball and beyond, we’ve got one diverse posse. Why? Because no matter what activity one participates in, there’s always room for mind-numbing comfort.

It’s a fact: Having happy feet leads to better performance. Better performance leads to better attitude. Better attitudes leads to more smiling. Any Einstein worth his or her weight in sandals knows that!

With that said, here is a little somethin’ something from Kim Russell- a kayaker with a love for all things whitewater and comfy sandals. Here’s what she has to say about what makes her smile:

If you ask me to describe Whitewater Kayaking in one word, it’d be the same word I would use to describe my Sanuks: Awesome!

Those of us in the Columbia River Gorge are absolutely spoiled by the multitude of runs within an hour driving distance. One of those runs, Hagen Gorge, a class IV/V tributary of the NF Washougal River, is an absolute gem. It is hard to catch when it’s in, and has evaded me for the past few years… until this past Friday.

Sanuk’s Shayne and Shannon McIntyre live the life most of us only dream about… They have been to more countries than our intern can even name. They have savored foreign delicacies that most noses don’t even get to sniff. Not to mention all the empty surf they stumble upon….

But, while it may seem like non-stop suntans and mai-tais, things can get quite interesting. Don’t worry folks, these family-first humans are professionals. Good thing our friends at Fuel TV are always there to document their travels for “On Surfari“.

In this new episode, the family jets over to Haiti to get a closer look at  what living conditions are truly like in the areas ravaged by January’s massive earthquake. Turns out Shayne and Shannon discover a completely different picture than one painted by news agencies. “On Surfari: Haiti” airs  this coming Monday, August 23 at 8:00pm ET (5:00pm PT) and telecast several additional times. ASR Tradeshow is one heck of a weekend. The whole Sanuk office is pumped for its return in a couple days. One of the highlights, aside from the movin’ and shakin’, is the Office Booyz Skate Showdown.

It’s a skate contest, held at the same venue, designed solely for company employees to relive their glory days. The dreams of pushing a skate professionally may have been taken over by pushing papers, but that doesn’t mean this old dogs don’t have few tricks up their sandals.

Washed up? Not even close. Last year, Sanuk audio/visual wizard Joey Maiocco took home the “Hesh to Death” award in ASR’s Office Boyz Skate Comp. When Joey isn’t on the grind with headphones on head cutting mad clips, his “hardcore demeanor, tight pants and tranny skills” lend themselves to bringing home the bacon.

At the comp, Joey put down Final Cut Pro and picked up 200 greebacks, an OB Hesh helmet, Creature’s Coffin Cruiser Board, and Creature’s famous “Blader-Hater, Hacksaw deck. Cha-ching!
