Sanuk Surfer Matt Pagan Submits Stylish Video Part to Innersection.tv

Wednesday, September 8th, 2010

Sanuk surf teamer, Matt Pagan, has submitted an incredible video part to Innersection.tv that showcases his talents at one of California’s most esteemed waves- Lower Trestles.

As a collaborative effort with his filmmaking brother, Matt cranked to meet the deadline for submission. He needs YOUR help to make the cut. His part is so stylee we had to take second look. And a third, fourth and fifth.

Here is some feedback Matt has gotten regarding his part! (Note: Innersection brainman, Taylor Steele, dropping some love)

About Innersection.TV (according to the site itself):

IT’S PRETTY SIMPLE. Surfers/filmers put their sections on the site (week 1). Members rate the sections on a 1-10 scale (week 2), which narrows the field down to Top 10 finalists. Then Members rank the Top 10 in order of preference: 1 thru 10 (week 3). After that, (week 4) we announce the winners and do it all over again.

The five highest rated surf sections will then become part of the Innersection surf movie. They will have the rest of the year to improve their section before it goes on the final DVD.

The final Innersection DVD will include the year’s top 20 sections — five qualifiers from four Rounds of competition. From these 20, you will decide which section deserves the grand prize of $100,000.

Go make your eyes and ears happy now. If you like what Matt has served up, VOTE and give him some love!

Sanuk’s Dave Rastovich Steals the Show in ‘Castles in the Sky’

Tuesday, July 13th, 2010

Surf filmmaker, Taylor Steele, has done it again. His latest creation, Castles in the Sky, is the beautiful follow up to his previous masterpiece Sipping Jetsreams. For this film, Steele and his select crew of surfers traveled way off the beaten path to score places most can only dream about. The crew filmed in five remote countries over the course of three years.

Castles in the Sky is shot on stellar 16mm and captures an aesthetic few surf productions can compete with. The film explores what happens when the typical surf travel mentality gets left at home.

“We created Sipping Jetstreams to inspire surfers to break away from the pattern of traveling to the same well-known destinations, but as a result, we ended up inspiring ourselves to do the same. Before that film was even done, we were already planning this next evolution of the project with a whole new list of destinations. If Sipping Jetstreams was like an ambient dream you have after travel, Castles in the Sky is more like the experience of actually being there.”
– Taylor Steele

Don’t worry, surfing is still the centerpiece. In fact, Castles in the Sky showcases today’s top notch talent. From high flyers to style masters, Steele made sure to assemble an eclectic cast worthy of all the anticipation.

While we don’t want to ruin the experience for you with all the details- we can tell you now, that Sanuk guru, Dave “Rasta” Rastovich, puts on a show-stopping performance to conclude the film. It’s definitely one you won’t want to miss.

Sanuk Surf Star Torrey Meister Submits Video Part for Innersection.tv

Thursday, July 8th, 2010

Sanuk surf phenomenon Torrey Meister has entered Taylor Steele’s Innersection contest! Never heard of it? Well that’s all about to change. Brace yourselves surfnauts.

Innersection is a groundbreaking platform for creating a surf movie. The project is the brain-child of Taylor Steele (The Steven Speilberg of surf movies). It is a video submission competition in which you, the viewers, judge who makes the cut and who falls short. It’s almost like auditioning to get a part in a Hollywood…minus the screaming directors and film snobs. The platform is a fresh, new concept that gets our happy hearts pumping.

For this contest, Torrey has team up with filmmaker Victor Parkpour to create his own 2-3 minute eye-popping surf movie.  The competition runs in four seasonal rounds.  Every two months a new round begins. At the end of each round, the five surfers with the most accalimed part will be immortalized in the final DVD (December 2010).

Torrey’s part is set to a song by The Sounds and is chalk full of heavy hitting maneuvers. From big time barrels to high flying aerial antics, Torrey has his bases covered. His surfing is looking better than ever! Mr. Meister makes even the most difficult feats look like a cakewalk…but, don’t let that fool you for one second. Torrey has spent years develping that silky smooth style. We can’t believe it’s not butter!

The best part about all this Innersection business? Being able to witness the greatest surfing on the planet…on surfers terms! Oh yeah, did we mention membership is free? Click any Innersection link above to sign up and start creating your surf movie. Vote for Torrey!
